A Day On Broadway

Be moved by the Broadway production of Steel Magnolias at Stages St. Louis with lunch at Billy G’s Kirkwood and shopping in Kirkwood, MO!

Before the iconic 1989 film Steel Magnolias broke box office records nationwide, Louisiana salon owner Truvy first set up shop on stage. The colorful cast of regulars and employees that frequent her establishment include a mother-daughter duo planning a wedding, a woman who’s “been in a bad mood for 40 years,” and a mysterious newcomer. Through laughter, tears, and a thick fog of hairspray, these women face trials and triumphs armed with their greatest strength: each other. Join us for a day trip to Kirkwood, MO for the thrilling production at Stages St. Louis’ new  theatre in premium seats. Colorado's Historic Trains

August 9 – 17, 2024

Journey to the beautiful state of Colorado and experience six scenic rail excursions and three national parks. Flight from St. Louis to Denver included.

DAY 1 Arrive in Denver: Welcome to Denver, the “Mile High City.” Meet your fellow travelers at 5:00 p.m. for a get acquainted dinner hosted by your Tour Manager. Meal: D

DAY 2 Rocky Mountain National Park: Departing Denver, venture into Rocky Mountain National Park, a living showcase of the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains. With elevations ranging from 8,000 feet on the wet, grassy valleys to 14,259 feet at the weather-ravaged top of Longs Peak, the park is filled with breathtaking scenery and experiences. Following the Trail Ridge Road a stop at the Alpine Visitor Center offers an opportunity to learn more about this fascinating place. Meal: B

DAY 3 Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad: Today, travel to historic Leadville to board the Leadville
Colorado & Southern Railroad. While onboard, learn about the fascinating history of the railroads and hear ghost stories and tales of the wild from your conductor while traveling north along the Arkansas River Valley. Rising up 1,000 feet from the valley floor you will be greeted by spectacular views of Fremont Pass and the two tallest peaks in Colorado, Mount Massive and Mount Elbert. Later, travel through scenic Monarch Pass and Curecanti National Recreation Area and visit the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park while en route to Montrose. Meals: B, Box Lunch

DAY 4 Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad: Today, it’s “full steam ahead” as you board the Durango &
Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Voted one of the “Top Ten Most Exciting Train Journeys in the World” by the
Society of American Travel Writers, this route winds through the spectacular and breathtaking canyons in the remote wilderness of the two-million acre San Juan National Forest. The locomotives used today remain 100% coal-fired, steamoperated and are maintained in their original condition. Later, check into the Sky Ute Casino Resort. Meals: B, D

DAY 5 Mesa Verde National Park: Visit the land of the ancient Pueblo Indians in Mesa Verde National Park.
The fascinating cliff dwellings and culture of these people provide you with a look into a society that existed
approximately 1,400 years ago. Building elaborate stone communities, the Ancestral Puebloan people developed
their own society that existed for some 700 years, before disappearing. Meals: B, D

DAY 6 Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad: Your day begins as you board the motorcoach and ride to the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, the original Rio Grande Line. This is America’s most spectacular narrow gauge steam railroad. Explore 50 miles of wild and rugged territory between Chama, New Mexico and Antonito, Colorado, the highest point on the railroad. Meals: B, L

DAY 7 Royal Gorge Route Railroad and Garden of the Gods: Aboard the Royal Gorge Railroad follow the 12-mile route along the old Denver and Rio Grande Western train line. Ride through the “Grand Canyon of the Arkansas” on an unforgettable journey over the famous Hanging Bridge, which clings precariously to the steep granite walls of Royal Gorge. Then, enjoy a drive through the stunning Garden of the Gods. This 1,300 acre park reflects the rich
diversity of the terrain and red sandstone formations tell a unique geological story. Meal: B

DAY 8 Pikes Peak Cog Railway and Cripple Creek: Begin the day with a “Ride to the Clouds” aboard the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, the highest cog railroad in the U.S. which stretches nine miles long as it vertically climbs to almost 14,000 feet. Then ride on the Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad. Scenic wonders await around every curve and this century-old steam locomotive is reminiscent of the gold mining days of the area. This evening assemble for a farewell dinner, sharing memories of this unforgettable scenic rail adventure. Meals: B, D

DAY 9 Denver and Home: Following breakfast, say goodbye to Colorado with a group transfer to the Denver International Airport for flights home after 12:00 p.m. Meal: B

Ticket to Hermann

Sit back and relax on this day trip to the picturesque town of Hermann, MO. Visit the Hermann Museum, Hermann Farm and Stone Hill Winery.

Tucked away in the beautiful Missouri River Valley, this picturesque 19th-century village captures your imagination like no other. This day trip is full of adventure, discovery and delectable tastes. It’s your Ticket to Hermann!

Upon arrival, we’ll tour the Historic Hermann Museum with a diverse collection that reflects the history and heritage of the Hermann area and tells the story of “why and how” settlers immigrated in the 1830s. Then we’ll stroll along the picturesque streets of Hermann lined with unique shops, cafes and wineries and enjoy lunch on your own.

Next we’ll head to Hermann Farm to discover the significance of Missouri’s cultural, agricultural and winemaking heritage. A guided Grand Tram Tour will carry you through the farm and include the 1847 Teubner-Husmann home, a 12,000 square foot stone barn, the Farm’s magnificent Shire draft horses, and the 19th century Rasche  homestead, along with a tasting at the Black Shire Distillery.

Then we’ll visit Stone Hill Winery for a guided tour through the largest series of arched underground cellars in the U.S. and discover the pioneering history and spirit of Stone Hill as a leader in the wine industry. After the tour, taste premier wines made with unique varietals. Finish the day with included dinner at the Vintage 1847 Restaurant inside the original stable and carriage house. We’ll head home with memories of a great day!

Christmas Around The World

Omaha, Nebraska | November 19 – 23, 2024

No passport required! Travel to Omaha, Nebraska for a festive trip filled with concerts, tours and meal experiences from across the globe.

Join FCNB Travel as we head to Omaha, Nebraska for a unique & festive cultural holiday experience! On the way, we’ll make a brief stop in the Home of Sliced Bread, Chillicothe, Missouri to tour the historic square, view the murals and have lunch. Then it’s onward to Omaha! After checking into the DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha Southwest, our first evening will feature Christmas in Germany at the German American Society Center. There will be traditional German holiday music performed by a men’s choir, dancers performing routines from various regions of the country, delicious food, and ends with a sing-a-long of the beautiful song “Silent Night”.

Our first full day, we’ll experience Christmas in Omaha with a step-on guided tour highlighting the Gold Coast District, Lewis & Clark Landing, St. Cecilia’s Spanish Cathedral, and more. We’ll also visit Pioneer Courage Park, featuring more than 100 larger-than-life sized bronze sculptures. After our tour, you’ll enjoy time to shop and dine in the historic Old Market District. Later that day, we’ll tour the Czech Museum with exhibits honoring early Nebraska Czech and Slovak immigrants. After the tour, enjoy home-made kolaches with coffee. That evening, join our family and pull up a chair to Big Mama’s Christmas Dinner for a good old fashioned southern meal at this television culinary staple.

The next day, we’ll visit Father Flanagan’s Boys Town, decorated for the holidays according to Irish Christmas holiday traditions. We’ll tour the Father Flanagan House, the hall of history, and enjoy a guided driving tour of this amazing non-profit organization. After lunch, we’ll be transported to Christmas In Scotland with a visit to the historic 30-room stone mansion that is Joslyn Castle. Entering through the huge front doors, we’ll hear the fascinating story of George & Sarah Joslyn while surrounded by the elaborate craftsmanship of the wood interior that comes from around the globe. That afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Tea Smith with a presentation by a professional tea master of sampling of a variety of holiday teas. For the evening, we’ll be transported to Christmas in Greece at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church. We’ll tour the beautiful Byzantine Style building before partaking in a delicious, authentic Greek meal set to a holiday program complete with Greek Christmas Carols.

The following day starts with Christmas In Lithuania through the eyes of the owners of Omaha’s Lithuanian Bakery, the Mackevicius family. They’ll share with you how they escaped Germany in WWII and started their bakery. Then, it’s on to Christmas at Union Station where “beautiful architecture blends with memories of a time gone by”. Starring a massive Christmas tree in the stunning main hall, you’ll also see a collection of beautiful trees featuring the heritage and traditions as you explore the 1930’s train depot and The Durham Museum. Then, we’ll head to Christmas In Poland at a Polish home for an authentic lunch and dance presentation prepared by the Polish Heritage Society of Nebraska. Our next celebration is Christmas In Ukraine with a presentation by Olesia Reprichowskyj. She will share her experiences as a child slave laborer for the German Army during WWII, as well as the history, customs and traditions of her country. That evening we’ll head to Christmas on the Frontier with dinner at the General Crook House complete with actors playing the part of the General and his wife Mary in the year 1879. After dinner, we’ll end our Christmas Around The World trip with a traditional performance of “A Christmas Carol” at the Omaha Community Playhouse.

The next day, we’ll head home and stop in St. Joseph, Missouri to tour the Wyeth Tootle Mansion. Built in 1970, this 43 room mansion was designed to emulate the castles along the Rhine River in Germany. This festive trip will have you Celebrating the Season with Oh My! Omaha!
